Listen + Learn Research appointed by The Earthshot Prize

We’re delighted to have been appointed by The Earthshot Prize to help evaluate the Prize’s impact.

Listen + Learn will assess how well the finalists have been able to grow their online and social communities. This will help  The Earthshot Prize better understand the impact of the Prize in supporting organisations working to solve the climate crisis.

A vital aspect of the prize is to help the finalists create global communities that will support their efforts long after the award ceremony is over.

“Our role at The Earthshot Prize is to accelerate and scale solutions that will help repair our  planet over the next decade. We’re working with a fantastic new cohort of finalists who are  doing ground-breaking work and by tracking their volume of online activity we can get a clear  understanding of how much coverage they are getting and how we’re helping to shine a  spotlight on them. Being able to track this through the year and around key events in the  calendar will be an important tool for us to measure our impact. We chose Listen + Learn to  support us because of their collaborative approach, strategic thinking and their own focus on  becoming a more sustainable business.” / Stephen Lavery, Senior Impact and Insights  Manager.

Excitement about this year’s Earthshot Prize has been growing rapidly since the 15 finalists were announced at the end of November. This year’s finalists include Kheyti, Mukuru Clean  Stoves, The indigenous women of the great barrier reef, Notpla, and 44.01

For the team at Listen + Learn Research, this research forms a part of the wider work we do on social responsibility. As our MD and Founder, Jeremy Hollow, explained:

“Building communities and influence across social media is a prerequisite for success in today’s hyper-connected society. Supporting The Earthshot Prize is a real honour. The need to find workable solutions to the climate crises grows daily and we admire their pragmatic, entrepreneurial and inclusive approach. It fully aligns with our values as we make our own journey to becoming a BCorp.”

About The Earthshot Prize

Founded by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in 2020, The Earthshot Prize is a global environmental prize to discover, accelerate and scale ground-breaking eco-solutions to repair and regenerate the planet. Inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot, which united millions of people around the goal of reaching the moon, The Earthshot Prize aims to catalyze an Earthshot challenge to urgently encourage and scale innovative solutions that can help put the world firmly on a trajectory towards a stable climate, where communities, oceans and biodiversity thrive in harmony by 2030. The five challenges are: Protect and Restore Nature;  Clean our Air; Revive our Oceans; Build a Waste-free World; and Fix our Climate.

The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism but championing inspiring leadership and helping to scale incredible cutting-edge solutions.  It will discover 50 winners over 10 years with the power to repair the planet. More than a prize,  The Earthshot Prize works in partnership with a Global Alliance of Partners to support the scaling of the solutions discovered and selected each year.
